- 1 - 8 oz. Triclean Prep Cleaner (TC)
- 1 - 8 oz. King Ranch Semi-Aniline Color (SAC707 Chaparrel)
- 1 - 1/4 oz. Super Link Crosslinker (SL7)
Easy to apply. Original look & feel.
Remove stains as much as possible. Spray a wet coat with Triclean Prep Cleaner (TC) over the entire area. Use a soft nylon brush to lightly scrub clean. Blot dry with a clean lint free towel or paper towel. Allow to dry completely. Use a hair dryer to speed up the drying process.
Lightly sand the leather with 600# sandpaper. This will help to break the surface coating and allow penetration (always sand leather before using color SAC-707 Chaparrel).
Check the leathers ability for penetration by placing a drop of water on several areas. Wait for minute, if the water leaves a dark circle, then the leather will accept semi-aniline dye. If the water beads up with no dark circle, a second or third cleaning is required.
Semi-aniline leather finish. Color: SAC-707 Chaparrel.
This color has a semi-aniline finish. A light topcoat protective clear is applied by the factory over the color to help resist staining.
After prep cleaning, a light sanding with 600# sandpaper is required to remove the protective topcoat.
1) Check color match. Mix Super Link Crosslinker (SL-7) 1/4 oz per 8 oz of color into the semi-aniline dye color.
2) Apply a light coat of the semi-aniline dye color by spray, wipe on or brush on method.
3) Allow to dry. A hair dryer may be used to speed drying.
4) Apply additional coats as needed, allow each coat of color to dry to touch.
5) To slightly increase the gloss, apply a top coat clear of Semi-Aniline Clear (SAC) mixed with Super Link Crosslinker (SL-7) (1/4 oz per 8 oz of clear).
Cleaning: Triclean Prep Cleaner (TC).
Topcoat Clear: Semi-Aniline Clear Base (SAC) .
Note: Always add Super Link Crosslinker (SL7), 1/4 oz per 8 oz of color or topcoat clear. Makes the color permanent.
